Available Features:
Vertical Orientation
Horizontal Orientation
Vertical or Horizontal
Click the Power Button to turn on your Totems. The Power Button is the raised button on the backside of your Totem.
Here's what it looks like when your Totem powers on:
When your Totem powers on, the Halo displays a Battery Level Indicator. Full Halo means full charge!
Note: the Battery Level Indicator is ONLY accurate when your Totem isn't currently plugged into a power source.
This is an easy one—go outside and get some fresh air! Totems use satellites to determine their location.
This is what your Totem looks like while it's Searching for Satellites.
Note: the "Searching for Satellites" animation only shows when your Totem is in Compass Mode (horizontal orientation).
To establish a Satellite Connection, make sure you have a clear view of the sky overhead with the horizon in view. Step away from roofs, walls, and other large structures.
It typically takes no longer than 10-15 minutes for your Totem to establish Satellite Connection, and often happens much faster.
To speed up the process, you can turn on Eco Mode by clicking the Power Button once while your Totem is turned on.
While you wait for Satellite Connection, you can move onto the next step!
Before you can navigate to a friend, you'll need to Bond with them! Bonding is a fast and easy process.
Here's how to Bond:
Bring the two Totems next to each other so that they're almost touching, and hold the Touch Crystals simultaneously.
This is what it looks like when you Bond:
Note: you can only use the Touch Crystal when your Totem is in Compass Mode (horizontal orientation).
Here are a few other things to remember about Bonding:
Once your Totem has a Bond and establishes Satellite Connection, you can navigate.
To navigate, first establish some distance between each other. 20 meters should be enough.
Now it's time for the fun part: spin around!
Your Totem automatically re-calibrates when you spin in a circle while holding it in Compass Mode (horizontal orientation). We recommend doing a quick spin every time before you navigate.
When you are navigating, your friend's Bond Light moves around your Totem's Halo in real-time to show you their general direction.
Your Totem also tells you the distance between you and your Bonds! As you get closer to them, their Bond Light will get bigger and bigger.
Once you get very close, their Bond Light will get absorbed into your Touch Crystal.
That means you're in the right spot! It's time to look around and find them.
When play-time is over, you'll need to remove Bonds to prep your Totem Compass for next time!
Here's how to Remove your Bonds:
This is what the Bond Removal process looks like:
A few things to remember about Bond Removal:
Bond Colors are automatically assigned based on their order.
Your first Bond is always Pink. 🩷
Your second Bond is always Green. 💚
Your third Bond is always Blue. 💙
Your fourth Bond is always Yellow. 💛
If you ever forget what color someone is, you can check their Bond Color by touching your Totems together like this:
If you ever want your Bonds to come find you, you can send an SOS Alert.
To send an SOS Alert, press and hold the SOS Button on your Totem Compass for 3 seconds. The SOS Button is the recessed button to the left of your Power Button.
When your Totem is sending an SOS Alert, a red light will begin to blink behind the SOS Button.
Here's what it looks like:
When one of your Bonds sends an SOS Alert, your Totem will tell you!
If your Totem is in Vibe Mode (vertical orientation), the Touch Crystal will blink "SOS" in morse code.
This is what it looks like:
When you pick up your Totem to find them, their Bond Light will be blinking rapidly.
To stop sending an SOS Alert, simply press and hold the SOS Button like you did before.
Eco Mode is a wonderful feature that extends your battery life significantly.
You can enter or exit Eco Mode by clicking the Power Button while your Totem is turned on.
This is what it looks like when you enter Eco Mode:
Just one quick click! If you accidentally hold the Power Button instead, your Totem will turn off.
Eco Mode extends your battery life by 2-3X.
Eco Mode is also how you turn off the Vibe if you're feeling overstimulated or want to be discreet. If your Totem is in vertical orientation but the Halo isn't Vibing, it's currently in Eco Mode.
Eco Mode can also help your Totem get a Satellite Connection much faster.
Totem releases free software updates for the Totem Compass on a regular basis. Software Updates are released to improve performance, extend battery life, and occasionally fix bugs.
Follow these instructions to download the latest Software Update onto your Totem.
Here are some Troubleshooting Tips to help you.
Totem won't Power-On:
Ensure your device is charged. Plug it in and look for the red charging light inside the Touch Crystal.
Totem can't get Satellite Connection:
Take your Totem outside and move away from structures like walls, buildings, or roofs. Ensure you have a clear view of the sky overhead and can see the horizon. Your Totem can get Satellite Connection much faster while it's in Eco Mode.
Crystal is blinking:
There are two possible reasons your Touch Crystal is blinking.
1) One of your Bonds is sending an SOS Alert. You can find out who is sending the Alert by tilting your Totem into horizontal orientation (Compass Mode).
2) Your Totem has low battery and needs to be charged. When your Totem has low battery, the Touch Crystal turns Red and starts breathing. This is the only time your Touch Crystal will ever show the color Red.
This is what it looks like when your Totem has low battery:
Totem isn't Bonding as expected:
Ensure the Totems are very close to each other (less than 1 inch). Press & hold the Touch Crystals simultaneously. Remember that your Totem can only hold a maximum of 4 bonds at once!
If you continue to have issues, try rebooting the Totems and try again.
Bond Light is not accurate while navigating:
Before you navigate, remember to calibrate your Totem by spinning in a complete circle while holding it in Compass Mode (horizontal orientation).
If the Bond Light still doesn't seem accurate after a calibration, check to make sure there are no iron or magnets nearby. These items can emit a small magnetic field which can temporarily confuse your Totem Compass.
If you're still having trouble, check to make sure that you are indeed Bonded to the person you're trying to navigate to.
The Bond Light may not always point perfectly at your friend's chest, but it should always take you in the generally correct direction.
Bond Light is breathing, or fading in-and-out:
When a Bond Light starts breathing on your Totem, it means that you are no longer getting active location updates from that Bond. This could be due to several reasons:
If your Bond gets out of range, don't worry! The breathing Bond Light will still take you to their last-known location. Navigating to their last-known location will usually bring them back in-range, and you will begin getting real-time location updates from them again.

Your Totem has 3 simple buttons to remember. Reference the diagram below:
Click the next toggle to learn how your Totem works.
The Totem Compass is designed with simplicity in mind—because there's so much beauty in simplicity.
Your Totem is equipped with 3 core abilities: bond, find, and vibe.
Click the next toggle to learn how to bond your Totem.
1. With one friend at a time, bring your Totems next to each other and hold the Touch Crystal simultaneously to bond. A pulsing ring of white light will appear around your Totem as it attempts to bond.
2. When you successfully bond, the Totem's Halo will change to the Bond Color that will indicate this friend's direction on your Totem.
3. The colored Halo collapses to a single point on your Totem, showing you the new Bond Light. It will then collect into the Crystal. Your friend's light will not indicate their real-time location on your Halo until you back away and establish distance.
Bond Colors are assigned automatically based on their order:
Bond 1 = Pink
Bond 2 = Green
Bond 3 = Blue
Bond 4 = Yellow
Any Totem Compass can bond with any 4 compasses, as it's not a hard circle of 5. Spread your bonds around among your friends to stay connected!
See the diagram below for reference:
Click the next toggle to learn how to use your Totem to find your friends.
You remove your Bonds by following the instructions below.
1. While the Totem is in Compass Mode (horizontal orientation), triple-tap the Touch Crystal to enter Bond Removal Mode
2. Single-tap the Touch Crystal to cycle between Bonds
3. Press and hold the Touch Crystal to remove the selected Bond
Reference the diagram below for guidance:
Your Totem remembers its Bonds even when it dies or is turned off. The only thing that can break a Totem Bond is YOU!
Click the next toggle to learn how to use the SOS button.
The Totem Compass automatically enters Compass Mode when it’s held in a horizontal orientation.
Before navigating to a friend, always spin in a complete circle to ensure your Totem is properly calibrated.
Follow the pretty light to find your friend.
The colored light representing your friend updates to show their location in real-time.
Bond Colors are assigned automatically:
Bond 1 = Pink
Bond 2 = Green
Bond 3 = Blue
Bond 4 = Yellow
As you approach a friend, their Bon Light will begin to expand on your Totem—telling you that you're getting closer!
At 100 meters, their Bond Light expands from 1 LED to 2 LEDs.
At 30 meters, their Bond Light expands from 2 LEDs to 4 LEDs.
At close-range, their Bond Light will be absorbed into your Touch Crystal.
When your friend is out of range or turns off their Totem, their light will dim and begin to breathe slowly. It will stay frozen in the direction of their last known location until they are back in range.
Click the next toggle to learn how to vibe with your Totem.
Your Totem automatically enters Vibe Mode when hanging vertically. Sound reactivity allows it to vibe to the sounds around you. A ring of lights around the Totem will pulse up and down to the music.
Vibe Mode uses a very small amount of power from the battery.
You can can mute the sound-reactive animation by entering Eco Mode. Enter Eco Mode by clicking the power button once while your Totem is turned on. Eco Mode can extend your battery life by over 120%.
Click the next toggle to learn about more Totem Compass features.
Your Totem is equipped with additional features designed to make you feel safer and more immersed in your event experience!

The SOS button is located on the back of your Totem, next to the Power button.
1. Press and hold the SOS button to send a silent alert to your friends.
2. Once sent, the area around your SOS button will glow a dim red. This will send an alert to all your Bonds, telling them to come find you. If their Totem is in Vibe Mode (vertical orientation), their Crystal will blink "SOS" in morse code. If their Totem is in Compass Mode (horizontal orientation), your Bond Light will blink rapidly on their Totem.
3. The SOS alert will continue until you hold the SOS button to turn it off.

Power Issues: Ensure your device is charged. Red LED indicates charging, turns to green when fully charged.
Bonding Problems: Retry the bonding process, ensuring close proximity (~1 inch).
Charging Concerns: Check connections and try a different cable.
Bond Light stuck in Crystal: Go to a location outdoors where you have a clear view of the sky. Wait until the "searching for satellite" animation disappears. This may take up to 20 minutes, depending on the satellites overhead. Remember that the Bond Light will only move from the Crystal once you establish sufficient distance between the Totems.
Bond Light not Accurate: Spin in a circle to recalibrate your Totem. Remember: the Bond Light may not always point directly at your friend (especially at short distances). However, it will always take you to your friend's location if it is properly calibrated (spin in a circle) and both Totems have a satellite connection.
Bug observed: reboot your Totem. If bug continues, let us know via the Product Feedback portal.
