The tech

Every Totem Compass combines satellite positioning, a direct Totem-to-Totem radio link and our Unity Mesh Network™. Together they keep your closest people close after your phone has given up.

01Satellites

Hyper-precise positioning.

A built-in GNSS receiver locks onto at least seven satellites (often more than 20) and pins your position to within a meter in good conditions. It refreshes every second, so the lights move as you do.

02Totem to Totem

Secure, direct communication.

Your Compass broadcasts its position on a 2.4 GHz radio, using a stripped-down, low-latency protocol our engineers built from scratch. Two Totems can reach each other at 1,000+ meters (about two-thirds of a mile) with nothing in between.

Every message is encrypted. Only Totems you've Bonded with can read where you are.

03Unity Mesh Network™

The crowd becomes the network.

Once three or more Totems are around, every one of them becomes a relay, even the ones you aren't Bonded with. Messages hop from Totem to Totem and route around gaps on their own. The more people carrying a Compass, the farther your signal travels.

Vibe Mode

Hang it from your neck and the Halo Vibes, reacting to the sounds around you. The Touch Crystal glows your color, so friends know which light to follow.

Compass Mode

Tilt it horizontally to start navigating. Up to eight friends' Bond Lights appear on the Halo, pointing to their location. Pick a light and follow it to find your friend.

Positions refresh every second

screen-free interface

A language of light and color.

No screen, no numbers to squint at. Where a light sits, how it behaves and how big it gets tell you everything you need to know.

SwirlingTwo lights circling the Halo mean your Totem is establishing a satellite connection. This usually takes under five minutes with a clear view of the sky.

Getting closerA Bond Light points at your friend and grows as you get closer. When you arrive, it jumps into the Touch Crystal.

ArrivedThey're right beside you. The Bond Light leaves the Halo and collects into the Touch Crystal, glowing in their color.

SolidA solid light means live connection: your Totem is receiving real-time location updates from this friend.

BreathingA slow, breathing light points to your friend's last known location. Their Totem may be powered off, out of battery or out of range, so follow with care.

Rapid blinkingReceiving an SOS Alert. A friend is signaling for help, and their Bond Light shows you exactly how to find them.

Bonding

Set up your group in under a minute.

A Bond is a person (or a waypoint) your Totem can find. Each Compass holds up to eight, and they're stored forever, until you delete them.

Primary Totem

1 Get everyone together Lay all the Totems side by side powered on, flat on a table or in your hands.
2 Pick a leader Choose one Totem to be the Primary Totem.
3 Start Bonding Touch and hold the Primary Totem's Touch Crystal for 6 seconds, until its ring starts flashing through colors.
4 Add the rest Press and hold each of the other Touch Crystals until every ring is quickly flashing rainbow.
5 Lock it in Touch and hold the Primary Totem's Touch Crystal one last time. Every Totem gets its own Crystal Color, and everyone's Bond Lights match.

Your friend

1 Tip to tip Bring two Totems together, lying flat, about an inch apart.
2 Press and hold both Press and hold both Touch Crystals at the same time. Both rings pulse blue.
3 You're Bonded Keep holding until the ring turns your friend's color and collapses into the Crystal. Repeat for each friend.

Bonding is a secure, two-way process. No one can Bond with you without your consent.

Press and hold the SOS Button

Press and hold the red SOS Button to send an alert. Only friends get the alert, and nobody else knows. Think of it as a silent alarm for your group.
